Spring and stuff
Luckily, we were able to squeeze in one pool day before this cruddy weather. Pretty much everyone I know has been listening to me complain about how there is a pool across the street from our house with a THREE year waiting list. Well, folks, this is the year. After waiting three years (no joke!) we got in!!! I just had to take a pic of the GOLDEN key on our first pool day. Such a momentous occasion. Nate loves the pool so much that he points through the trees and says pool on his walk home from school. This is after going once to swim and twice to play on the slide/in the playhouse. I have a feeling he is going to be obsessed this summer.
We also took pumpkin pie (my new nickname for Nate - it's so cute when he says it!) to the San Francisco Zoo. Mimi (my mom) was visiting and got to come too. These are real giraffe's. How cool is that? They were giant. I was way more impressed than Nate.
Since Mimi was in town, we decided to take advantage of the free babysitting and hit up a fancy schmancy benefit at the Palace Hotel in SF. Here we are in our 20's gear..hey, it was a bit last minute.
Skipping ahead to mother's day weekend (because that's what you do when you take loooong blog breaks). We spent the Saturday before mother's day at hubs parents house up in Santa Rosa. We started the day with some bocce and poolside lounging at Francis Ford Coppola Winery. This new spot is just divine. There is a pool, cute little cabanas for your stuff, 4 bocce courts, a stage for live music, the cutest little circle bar and a teepee with a kids bookshelf outside (awesome, but random). Nate is a total bocce convert. He also loved going over to the teepee to get books to read.
We spent Mother's Day at the Carneros Inn in Napa. This place makes me swoon. Big time! We had brunch at Boonfly Cafe. Nate I had the best giggle together. When I went to take a bite of my fried egg sandwich, somehow the entire runny yolk came flying out and landed on my lap (thank goodness for my napkin). Hubs missed it, but Nate didn't and he thought it was just hysterical. It was such a mother's day treat to have our first grownup chuckle together!
While we waited the 1.5 hours for our table, we went over to Farm (the hotel's main restaurant) and had some drinks/attempted to play bocce. Nate kept picking up the balls mid-game, so we decided to lounge on the lux patio at Farm instead.
Fingers crossed for some sunshine so we can keep up with the adventures and most importantly, GO TO THE POOL!
